Antique Iron Spike
Iron has always been a materia of boundaries , you will see it used in such places as cemetery gates, fences, churches and grave gaurds. It is known in many spiritual practices for its ability to repel malevolent energies or indeed hold them in place as a liminal boundary.
Interestingly there’s is a powerful old African god called Ogu or Oshira Ogu. He is revered in many folk magic traditions such as Santeria, Voodoo, Umbanda (to name a few)
Ogun is warrior and a patron of blacksmiths, craftsmen, and those who work with metal. He is known as a very powerful spirit of primitive force and energy, a god of warfare and justice. It’s not surprising that iron rail road spikes in particular are used in these old folk tradition’s and perhaps if not certainly influenced the western use of iron nails for apotropaic charms today.
They can be placed on door frames, entry ways, gardens or any space you would like to be secured from malevolent energies. You can also hammer one in to the ground with a photo of your enemy, if you’re feeling extra spicy…
Each is approx 5 inch long and pure antique wrought iron. Hand forged.
